She Stole My Heart
At Igneous Rock Gallery we aim to please. We also love dogs, and added to this I have a mile wide soft spot for my daughter, Chelsea.
When Chelsea called recently and told me about an opportunity to house/puppy sit for her Mom I was glad to hear she would be coming home from the big city (Philadelphia) where she is gainfully employed as a photographer. (www.chelseawertzphotography.com)
But there was a catch. In order for Chelsea’s plan to work someone would have to look after her Mom’s eight week old Yellow Lab puppy for a day or so, as Chelsea couldn’t make it home before the start of her Mom’s vacation. We thought it would be great to see Chelsea. If this is what it would take to get her home for a week, we would be happy to watch the dog if her Mom was OK with it.
She agreed, and predicted that Layla would steal our hearts.
Within fifteen minutes of being dropped off at the gallery by Chelsea’s Step Dad Layla did in fact steal my heart as predicted. I just didn’t know it would happen in my, umm…, auxiliary office.

I don’t usually bring the camera into the bathroom, so I had to disturb Layla long enough to retrieve the camera from my desk in the gallery. As soon as I was resituated she climbed right back into her cozy little bed, looked up at me very lovingly, did a couple doggy 360’s and passed out a second time.
